Fire hazards are increasing everyday. Considering the increased threat of these hazards the Chief Fire Officers (CFOs) as well as Tariff Advisory Committees (TACs) of all major metros have issued stringent guidelines for the use of Fire Doors for upcoming high-rise buildings before handing over the Occupancy Certificates.
In the light of these stipulations all high-rise buildings must have:
Different compartments like corridors, lobbies, fire escape routes, shafts, garbage enclosures, electrical
rooms etc.
Smoke free access to the escape route viz, corridors and shafts both horizontally and vertically by ensuring
that fire does not spread to those areas.
Smooth and free flow of people and goods between the compartments in case of fire.
